Pamana Children’s Library presents Family Day

An afternoon of bonding, adventure, making memories, and enjoying a wide range of free fun-filled activities. Doors Open at 12:30 pm.

1 PM — Film Screening of Finding Nellie (37 minute documentary), talkback

“Who is Nellie E. Brown?” A conversation with her father leads archaeologist and educator Ellie De Castro on a multi-year journey to try to uncover a 71-year old mystery in Olongapo City. Curious about the namesake of her father’s elementary school, Ellie sets off on a transpacific historical investigation that spans public and private archives, cemeteries, military records, oral histories, and community memories in the Philippines and abroad. In a twist of fate, the teacher becomes the student, and through her search for Nellie, Ellie learns a lifetime of lessons along the way.
