On April 30th, 2025, the Pan-Asian Voter Empowerment Coalition will be holding our 12th Asian American Action Day at the State Capitol in Springfield, IL!
We’re heading to Springfield because policies are passed through stories and our legislators need to hear about our unique needs as Asian Americans in Illinois. AAA Day is an opportunity for us to speak with our elected officials and directly influence legislation. This year, PAVE is fighting to Fund Immigrant Services, Increase Access to Justice, Establish Cultural Religious Calendar, Fund Inclusive History, and Protect Sanctuary Cities.
We leave at 5am, lobby from 10am-2pm, rally in the Rotunda at 2pm, and return to Chicago at 7pm. Register at bit.ly/AAADay2025 by April 23rd!
This year, our theme is “Sanctuary for All.”
The PAVE Coalition consists of 19 Asian American advocacy and direct service organizations including the Filipino American Council of Greater Chicago – Rizal Center in the Chicagoland area. Founded in 2011, the PAVE Coalition focuses on increasing voter turnout and civic participation among Asian Americans and improving the lives of Asian Americans through advocacy and policy change.
In 2012, PAVE held the first Asian American Advocacy Day and launched the Asian American Caucus in Springfield. Policy is passed through stories. AAA Day gives us the opportunity to share our personal stories with elected officials and bring our demands to the forefront!
