Featuring: Chris Gallevo

Chris Gallevo is a Filipino-American from the Northwest side of Chicago. His influences come from his love of pop culture and music. A child of the 80s raised on Saturday morning cartoons, Disney animation, comic books, and anime he frequently references popular characters and motifs in his work.

He incorporates themes of humor, excitement, and love through the representation of food or eating. Chris graduated from Lane Tech High School and Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in graphic design. He works full-time as an associate creative director at an advertising production company. Outside of painting he enjoys photography, karaoke, and is a Sunday school teacher at his church.

Chris believes Chicago is the greatest city in the whole wide world. He currently lives in Jefferson Park. Chris is a member of Sinag, an art collective of Filipino-American artists in Chicago and Greater Chicago. You can visit Sinag.us for more info.
