About Sandie Gillis
Born in Pangasinan and now based in Vancouver, Canada, the author is a passionate advocate for Filipino culture and heritage. A graduate of the University of the Philippines with a degree in Broadcast Communication, she has spent over two decades writing and organizing cultural projects that spotlight Filipino artistry. She co-authored SYM: The Power of Struggle with Alfredo Roces and contributed to Weaving Our Dreams, a celebration of the Tboli people. As co-founder of the Narragila Culture and Arts Foundation, she continues to champion diversity, empower artists, and tell stories that reflect the Filipino spirit.
