FACGC Reports on Community Alliance Meeting Hosted by CMAA

The Filipino American Council of Greater Chicago (FACGC) is pleased to report on the Community Alliance Meeting hosted by the Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) on March 20, 2025. The event brought together eleven organizations dedicated to serving diverse communities in Chicago. The meeting aimed to foster collaboration by discussing pressing community matters and sharing updates on available resources and services.

Participating organizations included:

  • Rohingya Culture Center
  • Alivio Medical Center
  • Filipino American Council of Greater Chicago (FACGC) Inc.
  • Uptown People’s Law Center
  • Serica Initiative
  • World Relief Chicagoland
  • Nourishing Hope
  • The Friendship Center
  • Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital
  • Hamdard Health Alliance

Sujit Singh, CMAA Manager of Social Services, facilitated the discussions. Each organization had the opportunity to present its mission, services, and areas where support from others could be beneficial. Attendees were encouraged to offer collaboration opportunities and contact details by writing them on post-it notes, which were then affixed to each organization’s poster board.

Key areas of collaboration identified included:

  • Public benefits application assistance
  • Immigration and citizenship application support
  • Senior services
  • Health screenings
  • Youth class partnerships
  • Food pantry services
  • Health education initiatives

FACGC proudly offered its facilities for hosting workshops, seminars, and senior social connection events, furthering its commitment to community engagement. FACGC’s organizational profile is captured in the related photo.

The productive meeting concluded promptly at 4:00 PM, leaving participants with new opportunities to strengthen partnerships and better serve their respective communities.
