What an incredible FAHMily day! 💖 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Filipino American History Month Family Celebration last Sunday! Over 120 community members across generations came together to break bread, dance, learn, laugh, and connect.
A huge thank you to the teaching artists who made the FAHM celebration so special and empowering! 🙌
@littlemissannmusic Your performance got the little ones (and elders) moving and using their voices!
@gingerenergy of @circapintigtheater Your theater workshop showed the children how to express themselves courageously and creatively!
@elanlinatoc of @sinag_chicago_art Your visual art workshop allowed families to see themselves in the images and stories of Filipinx/a/o leaders and changemakers!
@focusyourlight and @larryleopoldo Your mythology and writing workshop deeply engaged the teens and their parents too!
We couldn’t have pulled off such a successful, multi-generational event without your support and collaboration!
Shout out to our generous food sponsors Umaga Bakehouse, Ruby’s Fastfood Chicago, Trader Joe’s, and Leopoldo Catering for making sure our community was well nourished throughout the day!
If your small business would like to sponsor future events, DM us or contact us at filipinoschool@rizalcenter.org”
