Find TAYLOR CASEY Fundraiser with Queer Filipino-American Healers & Wellness Practitioners in South Shore, CHICAGO
on Saturday, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024

SHARING HOPE and HEALING with the TAYLOR CASEY FAMILY and their communities

CHICAGO, ILL. — The communities of Taylor Casey will host a fundraiser for her safe and speedy return, in Chicago on September 21, 2024, in the South Shore neighborhood.

WHY: Every penny raised on Saturday, September 21, 2024 will be contributed to the fundraising goal of $100,000, specifically:

• Ongoing legal and private investigation expenses
• Family support expenses
• Additional trips to Nassau, Bahamas, and Washington DC
• International and national campaigns and outreach

Ongoing support in the form of bodily and spiritual healing for Taylor Casey, her mother Colette Seymour, and all the many communities of Taylor’s, including the Black, Trans, and LGBTQIA+ and organizer communities are also critical for sustaining the movement to FIND TAYLOR CASEY.

Fundraiser ticket holders and supporters of Taylor Casey will enjoy activities like breath work, sound healing, movement (yoga), play and protection (Filipino Martial Arts), bodywork and massage demos (Ablon & Lomi Lomi), and a silent auction of donated wellness packages from local healers from 1pm – 3pm.

WHO: Taylor Casey’s mother Colette Seymore, and family spokesperson Sarahlynn Pablo will give remarks and be available for interviews and give updates on behalf of Taylor Casey and her family.

At 12:30 PM CST, participants will give Colette a blessing and send blessings to Taylor by encircling Colette with their hands.

Local organizers and supporters of the event like Filipino Marshallese artist and musician Stephanie Camba and Filipino Martial Arts and Indigenous medicines expert Crystle Diño will be available for interview to talk about their connections to Taylor Casey and why they continue to support efforts to find her.

Other visuals include:

• altar spaces,
• banners to Find Taylor Casey,
• healers demonstrating their offerings,
• martial artists engaged in sparring hand to hand or with weaponry,
• sound healers and musicians with their instruments
• a silent auction display consisting of art and wellness packages donated by local practitioners that will raise more funds to Find Taylor Casey.

The organizers’ goal is to raise $2000, or 48 tickets at the full suggested price of $42 per person. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Donors are also encouraged to make financial contributions directly to the Chuffed fundraising page.

The organizers also hope to raise awareness to find Taylor Casey and to bring continued healing to her, her family and communities. KA-LAB-ORASYON (“collaboration”) is an allies-run, joint awareness and fundraising effort led by queer Filipinx women and nonbinary healers and indigenous medicine practitioners to find Taylor Casey, in solidarity with the continuing push by the Black and Trans community and all the communities Taylor calls home to FIND TAYLOR CASEY.

Beloved community organizer and Black Trans woman Taylor Casey was last seen in the Bahamas on Paradise Island while on a yoga retreat on June 19, 2024.
