The Filipino American Council of Greater Chicago (FACGC) is partnering with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, and the University of Michigan’s Diversity Research and Policy Program (DRPP) on a survey to obtain information on Filipino-owned businesses based in the Chicago metropolitan area. We are interested in the pandemic’s effect on businesses, the support that businesses have accessed, and assistance that existing businesses need in the post-pandemic era. With this project, we hope to raise awareness of the challenges Filipino businesses have encountered and the role of the local community in empowering and supporting businesses.
You are eligible to participate in the survey if you are a business owner who has at least one business located (based) in Cook County and the surrounding counties (e.g., Lake, DuPage, etc). The survey takes approximately 10-minutes to complete.
We are primarily interested in the state of your business and on the information and assistance you currently need to sustain your business. By replying to the survey, you will be contributing to the Filipino community by providing a snapshot of the post-pandemic issues our businesses confront. This information will aid in developing activities to encourage future community development.
Please access the survey through the link below, using your smartphone or a computer. You can click on the link, or if that doesn’t work, copy and paste the link into your browser. If you do not have a smartphone or computer to use in responding to the survey, please email aebreo@umich.edu and we will contact you to arrange an alternate way to answer the questions.
If you know a Filipino business owner or entrepreneur who may be willing to share their experiences, please support this effort by us by sharing the survey link. We value your contributions to our community, and your support is greatly appreciated.
This project is approved by the university’s Institutional Review Board (IRB). IRB approval means that the university has reviewed the project’s procedures. We follow established survey procedures and only report aggregated information. We will not directly connect your responses to your business name or to you as the person providing the information about your business. In addition, the information you provide is confidential.
