Featuring: Jane Remigio

Jane Remigio is an artist creating work with bold colors and traditional art techniques. Her pieces are displays of her appreciation for every element in her life, ranging from simple pleasures to intense catharsis. If Jane is not in the studio, she is studying the human figure, vending in markets, or painting in live art competitions.

In her painting Snacks, the treats symbolize the bundle of cultures in the melting pot that is America. The letters are intentionally skewed to show coexistence between people despite any language barriers.

Taking center stage are her personal favorites, reminding her to take pride in being Filipino-American.

Jane is one of the 15 Filipino-American artists in Chicago whose art is currently on display at the Rizal Community Center. The exhibit runs until September 13.
